We love nothing more than capturing weddings that truly reflect the lives and personalities of the couple getting married. Rebecca & Andrew had been struggling to find a reception venue which really suited them, until they started to think outside the box! Once they’d convinced the staff at Welland Vale Garden Centre to host their first ever wedding reception it was all systems go, and and the staff were genuinely so excited to make it special for this lovely pair! Needless to say there was no shortage of flowers in their colour scheme, and so many other beautiful details including suspended watering cans hanging from the tree branches, and a spray-painted pink bike with a basket full of flowers!
Rebecca & Andrew both looked incredibly stylish – check out their amazing shoes and Rebecca’s quirky birdcage veil! As Andrew has a love of cycling there were little nods to this throughout the day, and he even went for a bike ride shortly before the ceremony – it was a little disconcerting when he took longer than expected to return, which turned out to be because of a puncture – typical! Rebecca’s Dad contributed the biggest ‘Restrooms’ sign we have ever seen, which certainly made sure everyone knew where to ‘go’!
After a ceremony at their local village church, which was built in a beautiful light stone, they drove together to the garden centre in a Mini with tin cans and ‘just married’ sign. Being able to take couple portraits in a polytunnel and huge glass greenhouse was inspiring and so much fun! After the emotional speeches their first dance to ‘Can’t Hold Us’ by Macklemore (which quickly turned into a mosh pit with all the kids) kept everyone on their toes! It was incredible to photograph Rebecca and Andrew’s day – we love that they didn’t stick to convention but chose to make the day their own, and totally rocked it!
