Holly and James’s day was a very special one for us, because it was a chance to catch up with lots of familiar faces! Last September we photographed Clarrie & Matt’s wedding, and Holly was the maid of honour!
Holly and James wanted their day to reflect their love of the countryside, so the whole day had a fantastic rural vibe which we loved – especially the wedding car (which was a Land Rover Defender) and the visit from the other man in Holly’s life, her horse! The table decorations and names centred around British wildlife, and the flowers by Moody Blooms looked rustic and beautiful in delicate whites, pinks and blues bound with raffia.
After getting ready at home, Holly and James had a moving ceremony at St Mary’s Church in the village of Stansted, nestled away amongst rolling hills and country lanes. After the ceremony the guests had a short walk down the hill to the spectacular reception venue, Court Lodge Barn. The British weather lived up to its reputation – in just a few minutes we had rain, sun, wind and hail! But after briefly sheltering in the barn we managed to get out into the grounds and the village for some photographs.
Lardercraft really treated everyone by putting on a fantastic spread, which kept people fuelled for the evening entertainment – a Ceilidh!
