Preserving your memories
Wedding photographs increase in value over time, so it's incredibly important to keep them safe for years to come! Be sure to keep up to date as technology advances - only a few years ago weddings were being delivered on discs, but now most devices don't even have disc drives!
Preserving your photos will be an ongoing task, but it is absolutely worth doing properly. Once you have received your images they become your responsibility, so here are a few tips for keeping your wedding photographs safe:
- Make sure you copy your images onto at least two external hard-drives
- Keep one of these drives in a separate physical location (i.e. your parents' house) for safekeeping
- You may already have a fireproof safe for important documents - why not add a small hard drive with your most treasured photographs to the safe?
- Cloud Storage is becoming more affordable all the time, so we always recommend uploading your photos as a safety net in the event of the physical backups getting damaged
- Having prints or a wedding album is another way to keep your wedding images preserved. They don't depend on any technology, and are a wonderful and social way to share your photos with friends & family!
We hope this helps! Please do shout if you have any questions.
With lots of love, Catherine & Andy
