8 Light & Airy Wedding Venues in the UK
As light & airy fine art wedding photographers, the single most important factor for us on any wedding day is the availability of natural light! It’s crucial for creating images in our signature style. This means some venues work better with our photographic style than others, so if you’re in the early stages of wedding planning and are drawn to soft, pastel, romantic photographs, it is well worth considering light when you look to choose a venue!
Things to look out for in indoor spaces when you are viewing potential venues are high ceilings, light walls and furnishings, and lots of glass - ideally dual aspect with windows on more than one side of the room, the more the merrier! Outdoors things like light stone architecture and sweeping gravel driveways are fabulous for light and airy wedding photos.

Rushton Hall, Northamptonshire
Rushton Hall is an elegant country house hotel & spa near Kettering in Northamptonshire. The purpose-built orangery is nestled away in the grounds behind the house, and is the perfect light & airy setting for a luxurious wedding!
The combination of the historic parts of the venue with the fresh, luxe feel of the orangery offers the perfect balance of classic and modern for your photos.

2. Syon Park, London
The Great Conservatory at Syon Park in London is a glasshouse steeped in history, with ornate ironwork and an abundance of natural light! Different spaces have their own unique characters and are full of tropical plants and cacti. It is perfect for a modern, luxurious London wedding reception!
Ceremonies are held within Syon House, which is just a short walk from the Conservatory. Bursting with classical features, this is an elegant, timeless, bright ceremony space in the heart of London.

3. Tortworth Court, Gloucestershire
Another wonderful light and airy wedding venue is Tortworth Court, close to the Cotswolds and Bristol. The Orangery is a dream for photographers and guests, with its elegant Victorian architecture and abundance of glass and light. The Orangery is nestled in the grounds of a grand manor house & hotel, perfect for anyone who wants to stay onsite.

4. Hyde House, Cotswolds
Hyde House is a barn-style wedding venue in the heart of the Cotswolds, near Stow on the Wold. The venue consists of a manor house, the grange (which is used for ceremonies, though you can also choose to get married in the beautiful garden), and a barn for the reception. With a clean, white and modern feel throughout, and a spacious bridal suite, Hyde House is the perfect venue for a country wedding and works with both rustic & luxe styling choices.

5. Hopetoun House, Scotland
Hopetoun House is an incredibly impressive venue on the outskirts of Edinburgh, Scotland. The building is quite simply bursting with history, dating back to the 17th century. The stables are a bright, spacious wedding ceremony space with large windows and high ceilings. For the wedding reception you enter the Ballroom which can accommodate 200 guests, and features tapestries and a cosy fireplace.
6. Froyle Park, Hampshire
Froyle Park in Hampshire is a sizeable country house wedding venue which caters for up to 300 guests. The light & airy spaces are perfect for us as wedding photographers and the views of the countryside are to die for. Froyle Park has an outdoor ceremony option under a dome in the grounds, and oozes luxury with its classical features, marble floors and glittering chandeliers!
7. Northbrook Park, Hampshire
Northbrook Park is a light & airy wedding venue in Hampshire, a short drive South West from London. Carefully manicured grounds and orangery style ceremony & reception spaces make this an amazing venue for a relaxed, modern wedding. The ceremony space is incredibly bright, with floor to ceiling windows on three sides, and the fireplace looks beautiful dressed with flowers. The front of the venue has a white door with pillars which is a lovely backdrop for photos, and you might even bump into a resident peacock or two!
8. Sefton Park, Liverpool
Sefton Park is a hidden gem of a wedding venue in the heart of Liverpool. This stunning glasshouse is absolutely packed with incredible palm trees and tropical flowers in the prettiest shades of pink & peach. The curved layout of the venue gives it an impressive yet intimate feel, so you could make it work for a large or a small wedding.
